Floorhand

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Derrickhand and Driller on the drill floor and conducting preventative maintenance on rig equipment. Floorhands also assist in the mixing of mud and chemicals, clean and paint as required, and assist in moving the rig, rigging up and rigging out. Safety is the top priority for all drilling rig personnel.

Motorhand

Motorhands are integral members of the rig team. Motorhands ensure all equipment is clean and operating properly, assist the Derrickhand and Driller on the drill floor and fill out log sheets and maintenance cards. Safety is the top priority for all drilling rig personnel.

Derrickhand

Derrickhands are responsible for all work above the rig floor, monitoring and maintaining proper drilling characteristics and ensuring proper drilling fluid properties. Safety is the top priority for all drilling rig personnel.

Assistant Driller

Assistant Drillers are in training for the position of driller and is under direct supervision of the driller.

Driller

Drillers lead a crew. Drillers are responsible to ensure the proper training and safe working of their crew and the safe operation of all equipment on the drilling rig. Drillers also operate and monitor the essential systems of the drilling rig including: the hoisting, well control, mud and power systems found on all drilling rigs. Additional duties include: conducting safety drills, organizing the moving and setting up of the rig and camp and liaising between the Rig Manager and crew. Safety is the top priority for all drilling rig personnel.

Rig Manager

Rig Managers are ultimately responsible for the safe, efficient and continual operation of the drilling rig and attaining Precision and clients goals and objectives for the drilling rig and the drilling project where it is working. Rig Managers are responsible for ensuring full compliance with all mandatory company, client, state and federal rules and regulations that relate to the location, relocation and operation of the drilling rig. Rig Managers must ensure the successful completion of all preventative maintenance activities and procedures as well as major repair and maintenance are completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner so as to maximize the drilling time and reduce the down time of the rig. Rig Managers are responsible for ensuring that all safety equipment is inspected and functional at all times and that regular inspections and safety drills and meetings occur. Rig Managers are responsible for working with the department head supervisors for all areas of the operation including; rig management, safety, relocation, rig up and rig down operations, drilling operations, personnel training, regulatory compliance and cost management. Safety is the top priority for all drilling rig personnel.

Top Drive Technician

Technicians are primarily responsible for the operation of the top drives, This includes installation and removal of the top drive into the rig's mast and connecting the top drive to rig floor and ground positioned equipment such as generators, hydraulic pumps and SCR houses. The top technician is responsible for properly training the rig crews in the safe operation and maintenance of the top drive. They are required to be available at any time to travel to the rig to trouble shoot and repair the top drive. Since the drive technicians primarily work alone, they must participate in all procedures and policies of our safety program no matter which rig or division they are in, as the safety of everyone is their highest priority.

Rig Mechanic

The Rig Mechanic's duties include the responsibility and maintenance of all mechanical equipment on the rig that is company owned. They should be very capable of performing the maintenance according to OEM or company guidelines. Equipment should be kept in condition so that it will be capable of operating at 100% efficiency at all times and not "rigged". They will be responsible for maintaining an adequate amount of spares. They work closely with and train the rig crews. The Rig Mechanic does not have to be able to overhaul an engine or rebuild a mud pump as that work will be done in the shop. The Rig Mechanic will participate in all aspects of the company's safety program as safety is everyone's top priority.

Rig Electrician

Rig Electricians will be responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all electrical systems on the rig. They work very closely with rig crews to make sure someone that doesn't have the proper training will stay away from anything electrical and that we never bypass an electronic safety system or take any short cuts. Other duties will include everything from SCR, VFD repair to changing out a light or wiring up a plug. The Rig Electrician at a minimum should be certified for industrial service. The Rig Electrician will participate in the company's safety program and never deviate from the policies or procedures as safety is everyone's top priority.
